Instructions to download and install Innovation Toolbox:
1. Print out this page for easier reference while downloading and installing Innovation Toolbox.
These instructions may seem long but they are very simple to perform and are explained in great detail and clarity for your benefit and ease of use. You will find that they are easy and quick to follow.
2. Download the compressed file from this web page:
Click on the highlighted line below to start the download process of one large file which contains all the files needed to install Innovation Toolbox. It is simpler if you install this file into its own directory but not compulsory (You can create one during the download process by pressing the Create New Folder button while selecting a folder.)
You may be asked if you want to run or save this file to disk. You should save the file to disk.

This file is approximately 6195 Kb in size and is called "instlbox.EXE". This program will change your ability to generate new ideas. (NOTE: this is a big file and can take a long time to download. It is worth it!)

3. Extract the installation files from this compressed file:
When the file has been downloaded then you should run it by double-clicking it in Windows Explorer.
(If you get an error message of "No CE signature" then the download of the file did not work correctly and you should download the file again.)
A box will appear which asks you where you want to extract it to. Please use the default settings unless you have a particular reason not to. This will extract the files to a directory called "C:\INSTALL".
4. Install Innovation Toolbox:
In Windows Explorer, run the file called "setup.exe" in the "C:\INSTALL" directory to begin the installation. Follow the instructions. Please use the default settings unless you have a particular reason not to. Please write down the name of the directory where you have installed Innovation Toolbox if you choose another directory.
If you have any difficulties in installing Innovation Toolbox make sure that you have not got any other programs running at the same time. Some programs such as virus checkers and Microsoft Office can cause installation problems.
To see what programs you have got running and to be able to close them down you should:
Press the CONTROL and the ALT and the DELETE keys at the same time ONCE only.
You will then see a list of programs which are open. Select the ones you want to close down and press the END TASK button. (Please note that you should not close down "Program Manager" or "Explorer".)
(N.B. If you are concerned about closing down a virus checker then first cut off your connection to the Internet and scan your whole computer before doing so or scan the directory containing the extracted files.)
If you are told that there has been a conflict in running the installation package but you have checked that no other files are open, please exit and restart Windows and try again after closing down the extra programs again. Unfortunately Windows has some problems with it and very occasionally this has had to be done to install properly.
Note: This Innovation Toolbox installation uses a program written by Microsoft to install the files.
5. Remove the installation files:
You can delete the installation files and directories when you have sucessfully finished the installation. These files are in the directory called "C:\INSTALL".
6. Reboot your PC:
Close down Windows and reboot your computer.
7. Run Innovation Toolbox:
Run Innovation Toolbox in the same way that you would run any other program:
There are two versions of Innovation Toolbox: the full version and the Instant version. You have downloaded both of them, so please make sure you try out them both.
Press the START button, select PROGRAMS, then run both the 'Instant Innovation Toolbox' and the 'Innovation Toolbox' icon at separate times.
You have six icons:
- Innovation Toolbox - This is the full version which contains all of the creative thinking techniques and a full problem solving process.
- Innovation Toolbox Help - Help file and tutorial file, explains how to use the program and how to order it.
- Instant Innovation Toolbox - This is the version which contains the most pro-active of the brainstorming techniques and will give you a new prompt instantly.
- Instant Innovation Toolbox Help - Help file and tutorial file for Instant Innovation Toolbox.
- Online Order Form - This links you to a secure purchasing site on the Internet for instant credit card purchase (and other methods too).
- Order Form - If you want to order any other way then either
